Wimbledon fashion flashback: Serena Williams 2008

Serena Williams

Serena Williams has always been her own women and that’s something reflected in her choice of outfits – remember the raincoat at 2008?

On her first outing in 2008, Serena took the court wearing a white raincoat like the star of a 1960s gumshoe detective movie. Serena said of her outfit: “It is definitely not athletic attire. But it is ladylike and I am very ladylike. It goes perfectly with my personality and everything else. I absolutely love trenchcoats. I mean, I love coats, and I don’t know why because I live in Florida, so it doesn’t really add up.”

Serena’s raincoat, was it singing in the rain or all washed up?

They don’t play in that. Just warm-up. And for “looking good”.

I remember it, another example of the Williams sisters’ effotlessly chic style. Can’t wait to see what they are wearing this year!

It’s a trendy coat! wonder if it was ever made available on the market for sale. Serena really know how to light up a tournament with her fashion sense!

I love it! She looks amazing but the coat is a bit much. I like it but to wear it on the court… looks weird.
